| Leibish Nash Senior Member of the Vaad HaKohol
Leibish Nash has served on the Vaad HaKohol for three terms, beginning in 1996 (he did not run in 2001).
Mr. Nash is a career civil servant who works for New York State government.
He is the only current member with a full-time job and he therefore cannot go to meetings if they are held during the day on weekdays.
Although always on cordial terms with the members of the prior Vaads on which he has served, Nash has been at loggerheads with Rubashkin almost since the beginning of the current Vaad's term. This culminated in his attempt to take Rubashkin to Din Torah, and, when Rubashkin failed to respond to the Beis Din't hazmanahs. he, together with other askanim, filed a civil suit in secular court to block Rubashkin from forming his own Beis Din. |
